Blonde teak woods, pale rattans = Scandi style!
12/05/15Retail Therapy for Bali Advertiser, May 13, 2015
Have you noticed that every other person you speak with these days wants to buy ‘Scandinavian’ – the trend has been going on for a few years at least, in fact, don’t think this trend has ever died…magazines are full of the stuff from furniture to pieces mostly seen in blonde teak wood.
Scandinavian epitomises the contemporary clean lines and shapes for furniture, indoor and outdoor, pieces that can be fine modern shapes to the more chunky and bold.
It all started out with IKEA in the 70’s and we have come a long way to now…Scandinavian means Danish, Swedish and Norwegian not only highly acclaimed furniture but fabric, glassware, lighting and silver jewelry too. Design is their strength and they do it so well.
Okay, if this is your style and you want a piece of the action look no further than Selected Living on Jl Kerobokan. Sunset Rd meets Jl Kerobokan at the T junction, turn right & Selected Living is just a little way along on the right hand side with the flags flying outside.
Garry is the Balinese owner/manager and speaks excellent English (he lived in Germany for 15 years) and has a very good feel for Scandinavian style and his furniture & homewares collection instore demonstrates this fact, not only furniture but objects and lots of ingenious pieces for dining, kitchen overall entertaining that you can’t help but want…. it’s only a small shop (recently made bigger) but you can still get a good idea of just how you can work this furniture and other pieces into your space large or small at home. Ideal furniture for an office too, all you have to do is ask Garry and he can get any items made to your specifications and the prices are affordable.
